Re: Calling McCombs (UT Austin) MBA Applicants: (2019 Intake)Class of 2021 [#permalink]
nidoblue honestly that’s a tough question because I feel like everyone’s got something in their favor.

My interviewer did ask me a funky question “what do you think is the weakest / strongest part of your application” she first asked weakest then strongest.

Plus I live in Canada and messed up the central time zone thing so I wasn’t even aware I was supposed to be in the interview until I got her email asking if I can still make it.

I apologized in writing and to her - she was very graceful and seemed genuinely excited about the interview went but I honestly don’t know ... I don’t feel overly confident.

No worries ... we really all busy at work ... I’m glued to my phone cos notifications will be going out soon lol.

Hal90 Ya gotta be confident!

I personally don't think it would be the end of your application just because you made a mistake with the timing. I saw in a previous post somewhere (after scouring the internet for days) that the interviewers rate you on 1-4 (no admit-absolutely admit) so it's a bit of a sliding scale with wiggle room if that's true. On the other hand, my interviewer wrote diligent notes in little boxes. I'm not sure if that means the 1-4 scale is not correct or if it's just additional information to give the admissions team...

Denied my waitlist spot as I have accepted Marshall's decision. Hopefully, clears a seat for others waiting. Good luck everyone!

Congrats on Marshall, anulfc! Is their deposit deadline today as well? I don't think I see it publicized on the website.

Does anyone have any insight into scholarships for McCombs? If we were offered money elsewhere is this something to bring to the adcom team?

They'll call admits throughout the decision day and the portal will update sometime in the afternoon (ding or admit)

After R2, McCombs offered a webinar for waitlisted candidates that went through the process and had tips for improving your candidacy. I am sure there will be a similar webinar for the R3 candidates.

Best of luck!

Rodrigo: The Fellows program start off with a lot of 101 advising to make sure that students have the background in place. There are multiple checkpoints through the two years in which we ensure that the Fellows are making progress. At the end of the development plan, we have a capstone to bring the concepts and cohorts together. We see Fellows programs as a purposeful way to put together development opportunities at McCombs.
