The best way to protect yourself from the virus is with conventional hygiene products. Try not to sneeze or cough on you. If you yourself are sick, carefully dispose of used disposable handkerchiefs. Wash your hands more often - because the virus can be transmitted not only by airborne droplets, when someone sneezes or coughs, you can pick it up by touching infected surfaces or an infected person. So, I repeat, regularly washing your hands, you protect yourself from infection.

I flew from Seattle to Frankfurt on Monday. Nobody wore masks. Flight was probably 30% full. It was enjoyable to fly with airport free of crowds And everyone pretty respectful. There was no rush or hurry. Want Starbucks? At the airport? Sure! No line.

Yes.... I guess. It is definitely a lot easier to travel. Interesting enough, most people I saw traveling were older folks over the age of 60. My self excluded obviously :-)

PS. I could also be spreading it, you never know... Are used about half a bottle of pure L hand sanitizer on that one flight, constantly sanitizing my hands, etc. flight attendants did not seem to care or be phased by it. At one point one of the flight attendants had a coughing fit. That really got a lot of attention but it seems like they just had something go down the wrong tube. Had a lot of people looking though. You definitely don’t want to be coughing or sneezing in public during these times.

Yes you are right! coughing, sneezing and hand shaking are being considered the primary reasons of the spread of Corona virus.

I would say you are better anywhere than in Seattle right now  (For those who don't know, Washington is the most affected state right now).

While I agree with you that travel is a lot easier you also have to consider that you cannot make travel because of all the restrictions put by Employer. Domestic and International travel for business is cancelled. Personal travel is also restricted because you can bring back the virus; who knows?

Honestly, I want to plan my trip to India right now. Free Airports. Cheap and less crowded flights. Everything will be calm. Best times ever. But too many restrictions so I cannot.

True. This is true regardless of where you are. Home/Walmart/Office/Anywhere.

Just passing this info along for those who are interested...

Other than the obvious of dousing yourself in hand sanitizer, washing your hands, and not touching your face, here’s guidance from a pathologist who is friends of friends with my neighbor:

The current projections for its expansion in the US are only probable, due to continued insufficient worldwide data, but it is most likely to be widespread in the US by mid to late March and April. Stock up now with zinc lozenges. These lozenges have been proven to be effective in blocking coronavirus (and most other viruses) from multiplying in your throat and nasopharynx. Use as directed several times each day when you begin to feel ANY "cold-like" symptoms beginning. It is best to lie down and let the lozenge dissolve in the back of your throat and nasopharynx. Cold-Eeze lozenges is one brand available, but there are other brands available.

Virus Coping Suggestions

The new coronavirus may not show sign of infection for many days, how can someone know if they are infected? By the time they have fever and cough and goes to the hospital, the lungs are usually Fibrosis and it could be serious.

Taiwan experts provide a simple self-check that you can do every morning:
Take a deep breath and hold your breath for more than 10 seconds. If you complete it successfully without coughing, without discomfort, stuffiness or tightness, it proves there is no fibrosis in the lungs, basically there is no infection. In critical times, self-check every morning.

Advice by Japanese doctors treating COVID-19
Ensure your mouth & throat is moist, never dry. Take a few sips of water every 15 minutes.

Why?

Even if the virus gets into your mouth, drinking water or other liquids will wash them into the stomach, there acid will kill the virus. If you don't drink water regularly, the virus may enter your windpipe and get to the lungs.

1. Avoid highly congested places. Public transportation, trains, clubs, meetings, conferences, marches, etc.

2. Avoid close contact with people who have recently been in countries with the greatest rates of infection (China, Italy, Iran, France, Spain). This is not intended as a discriminatory policy, but is, unfortunately, a necessary temporary measure to minimize risks of contagion.

3. Wash you hands more often, and never touch your face with unwashed hands.

Unfortunately, there's little more that could be done to contain the spread of the virus.

Best,

Rod

What if people are going to sanitize his or her hand continuously and touching face several times with hygienic hand? Any chance to be affected by Corona virus? Do you have any idea?
Thanks__

If your hands are properly washed/sanitized then there is not possibility of contagion. The coronavirus is actually weak against detergents and hot temperatures. Be careful though, that in some cases a virus can become resistant to any substance and modify its own structure, producing a different strain. If you need to touch your face several times a day and want to play it totally safe, I´d use some sort of disposable tissue, especially when touching the mouth, nose or eyes.

Best way to avoid corona virus is to "stay at home and stay safe".
