I feel like I have spent a LARGE chunk of my life waiting on Yale. I emailed the adcom earlier in the week about Indian invites (the same one who gave me feedback on my last app) and she said interviews will go up to the decision deadline and not to freak out. But, I AM freaking out.

Early 700s. Slightly less than the average.

Wow I also had early 700s, but they didn't say anything about improving GMAT. I did not retake, but focused heavily on current work and extra curriculars. Now I wonder if these numbers really will be the end all be all :(

I think the GMAT component is different for different demographics. Plus my undergrad has an unconventional grading scale and that’s why the GMAT became a more urgent differentiator. They gave me feedback on my story and positioning as well.

I really think you shouldn't email the Adcom with questions like what's up with Indian (or a specific group's) invites. Doesn't look too good on you and may even reduce your odds. The way i see it is you bugging them won't help your chances but may hurt it. Why bother with the risk. My two cents for your other schools.

Yes I second that recommendation.

Remember, each "touch point" is an opportunity to make a good impression or on the other hand to do/say something that could cause a ding. Be very careful and conscious about any interaction with the business school (no matter how big or small) in case it negatively affects your candidacy.

I absolutely agree with both of you. This case is slightly different though. The person I talked to gave me feedback on my last app and asked me to be in touch with any questions or so. But I get what you guys are saying.

For those who will interview on campus - in which hotel do you guys plan to stay? Any reasonably priced but well-located suggestions?

Guys - does anybody know what the email format is for current students? I met someone at an info session and have their name, but not the exact email layout.

Is it: [email protected] ?

CorporateFinancier: For my last interview I stayed at the Omni New Haven which was not exactly affordable, but was very convenient, allowing me to walk to my interview. I stayed there because Round 3 interview invites were sent exactly three days before the interview date and everywhere else was booked.

If you or anyone else is interviewing on 10/27, I'm staying at a great AirBnB this time with two bedrooms and a separate living space. I'd be willing to split it with one other person (contingent on the host being okay with this) if anyone is interested. I reserved the room for two guests. Anyone interested, shoot me a message. I'm a male, if that matters to anyone.

Zoomwalt, Every student that I've corresponded with has been: [email protected]. Where did you see that layout?

I was told this by an incoming student, but may have mis-remembered it.

I'm staying at the Courtyard New Haven at Yale. I'll be on campus the same day as you - see you there!

I received my interview invite on Friday and am still in shock! To those waiting definitely do not give up hope. I certainly had started to lose faith (especially since I was rejected by Booth that morning) but was ecstatic when I saw the email. I have a great feeling more people on this thread will be invited.

Question for the quote we need to submit before the invterview-- does anyone know if we are only supposed to submit the quote, or should we also write why we chose it?

Congrats, Triton! I had the same question regarding the quote last cycle and I ended up not explaining it as the text box in the submission form says simply to insert the quote and its attribution. Toward the end of the interview I was asked to explain why I had chosen the quote, so explaining prior would have "stolen the thunder" -- so to speak -- from my actual interview.
