5 yrs marketing for global brand, extensive international work/study exp, 3.0 gpa and 600 gmat. have been talking to insead alum and current student for ages, and they all believe im a good fit for the school. i think my essays were v. compelling as i talked about personal experiences that are most meaningful to me, included some humor and let my personality shine thru. :)

That makes sense. Your experiences are well appreciated by the admissions committee, hence the GMAT improvement request. Keep in mind that lots of us have experiences to talk about and as competition gets fierce, IMO the admissions committee will hold-on to a trait as silly as the GMAT to delay admission. INSEAD does not recommend re-applying unless the candidate is a good fit to the school.

Wish you the best and let me know your plan.

The people who got interview invites, mind sharing your profiles a bit?

Dual Citizen, born in Africa, lived in 3 countries before settling in Canada. Studied in Montreal, then moved West to Alberta to work in the oil and gas industry. Worked for 4 years across Western/Northern Canada before relocating to Texas where I became district manager for the largest oilfield services company in the world (80 months total experience).

I speak 3 languages fluently (and a little bit of Spanish) and I compete regularly in jiu-jitsu tournaments.

it's like we have a kinship here :) . Dual citizen, studied and worked in Montreal, then moved to the west and I've been working in the o&g industry - oilfield services, awaiting the acquisition to be as big (or close) as the top o&g services company in the world :P

That's super cool! A lot of similarities! :)

From what I have heard, they do but very rarely. The class profile of 2015 should give you a fair idea. Think about it from adcom's viewpoint - is your profile strong enough that it could persuade the adcoms to select you over a 6-7 year experienced candidate?

Hi Fellow applicants,

I have a question about recommendations that I am hoping one of you might be able to answer.

The recommendation form has a grid related to certain attributes that needs to be filled by the recommender. Is that supposed to be filled under the purview of all the people recommender has ever worked with or the people with similar experience and capacity? I believe it should be the latter but how have you guys interpreted it?

I interpreted it as people with similar experience and capacity. It wouldn't be a fair recommendation otherwise

Hi everyone,

I'm a fresh 17J admit in R3 (we got the call on March 16th), so I know exactly what all here are going trough (the waiting is killing, right?). Try to focus on work and forget about your applications, you'll be even more distracted once you got admitted because you want to liaise immediately with all those awesome people in your class through Facebook, Slack, wechat, etc..

Best of luck to everyone, and if I can be of any help, let me know ;)

R2 applicants : How far you in the application process?

I'm done with my motivational essays and job descriptions. Right now finalizing my CV and working with my managers on the references. My plan is to submit on the 17th. How about yourself?
