What?!? That stinks. It's likely not something McCombs has control over. Many of these requirements are dictated by the state laws for public universities. HBS is private so the have more leeway.

Hi all,

Has anyone here applied for R1? How long does it take for the official GMAT score to be reported to the school? I ordered mine just 3 days prior to the deadline and immediately got a mail that the score has been reported to the school. However it shows pending in the application portal? Any idea?

Hey sujit75 ,

I sent them my scores on 1st Oct and got an email the next day stating my scores have been sent to them.

When I checked on the application portal yesterday, it said its pending.

Looking at that, I sent an email to GIAC team and this was their response:

"Although the testing agency will report the scores as having been sent on a certain date, we don't actually receive the scores then. There is still a delay (sometimes a few weeks) before we receive the scores and they are loaded into the system. The timeline provided by the testing agency is not accurate. As long as you used the exact same name and date of birth when you took the test and when you filled out your application, your status will be updated when we receive your scores."

Moral of the story:
Don't worry. :)

This process (official scores being received by GMAC ---> linking them to your application) can take up to 4 weeks. The program requires you to self report scores, and make sure that you set up your test scores to be sent by the vendor prior to the application deadline. GIAC usually receives and processes them a few weeks later and that bit is required to have been completed prior to a decision releases on your application. It is not required for them to begin processing your application, send out interview invites etc etc. I am in the same boat having only re-sent my test scores on October 9th after being told that they purged my earlier reports from 2013.

Anyone has an idea if there is a deadline for interview invites? The website says decision notification on 19th December so does that mean interview invite can be anytime between now and 19th Dec?..Let me know if someone has clarity on this.

Regards
Rahul

Hi mate. Yes that's how it works. They have rolling invites. That means that you can get invite today or couple of days before 19 december.

Based on last year's thread, initial batch of invites should start going out later this week.

Congrats!

If you don't mind me asking when did you submit? And when did your application say it it was under review?

I'm just trying to gauge the timing of when I may expect something.
