Confused on understanding GMAT Quant and formulas [#permalink]
mactuan12 wrote:
I have until mid-August (4 1/2 months of studying) to take my GMAT exam for the fall and possibly October for Spring if I score badly. I am overall confused about what to study for the GMAT. I recently watched a GMAT quant review as well reading various forms that provide basic math concepts of what will be tested on the GMAT quant, and felt motivated about what I was learning until I started looking at the GMAT questions and answers. The gmat answer provided short cuts to answering these questions and overall gave the impression that these math concepts were obsolete. Its should take 2 min to solve a math problem but formulas take longer to do. I got a 230 on the official GMAT practice test and need to get at least a 550 to gain admission. Where I can start for beginners becasue everything is so foreign to me. Thank You! :dazed

How many months are you studying? What materials do you use for quant and verbal till now?
For quant (solving the math within 2 min):
You can try gmatquantum for math. The explanation is perfectly fine. You can access the official math's explanation from here without any cost.

For verbal:
The most acceptable explanation i have ever seen is Thursdays with Ron.
