Hi guys!

I just want to re-affirm that GMAT is just one point in your application.

Spend more time in your essays, recommenders, resume, and PROFILE/STORY building (everybody has a unique and interesting story to share, just dig deeper ;))

My reco is spend 3-6 months preparing for GMAT. Do your best, then if it’s 30 pts higher than your target school’s minimum, that’s it!

I hope this post helps those who are spending too much time on GMAT preparation and those who are anxious about their not-so-good scores.

Good luck!

Congratulations, crusherX

Can you tell us how much time did you spend on preparing your applications apart from GMAT? Also, I request you to write an application debrief in the following forum. I guess that will help/motivate a lot of applicants to focus more time on preparing applications.

You must have a wow factor. Congratulation.

Btw. Which master program are you applying to?

Share more tips on how you craft your resume and essays, deal with recommenders, and build your profile story. Give a bit of educational and work background

Congrats on the admit!

As others have requested, please share your profile here. 680 is definitely more an exception than the rule, so you must have other compelling attributes that not the average applicant has. Attributes such as profession, career progression, gender, race, military status, extra-curriculars, etc., all matter. Adcom usually compares applicants in the same candidiate demographic pool to build their class.
