So today I took GMAT I am pretty bummed with my results.
Got 690 43Q41V 7IR.

The tricky part is that, I am not applying for MBA-s in US. I am mostly planning to apply for Master in technology and innovation management programs in Europe (I am with business background).

Not sure if I should retake or not? Some of the programs ask for GMAT others don't. I want to study mostly in LSE or Imperial college in london. On their websites they say they are not asking for GMAT, but a well balanced score will benefit the application.

Not sure what to do. Is it a good score? Will this low quant score be bad for me as I am applying for tech oriented masters?
It is also pretty hard to find info about what GMAT scores this MSC-s ask for usually. The info is always about MBA programs

Most of the info is indeed about MBA programs since that's where the majority of applications go. For non-MBA programs, applicants have to dig for information.

Your 690 score is very good for non-MBA Masters. Most applicants will have lower or somewhat higher scores, but not many will. Applications for non-MBA programs stress other qualifications, e.g., research, rather than mainly focus on test scores.

It is correct that many of the non-US programs do not ask for GMAT scores, even though some may state that such a score would be looked at if submitted. These programs look at other aspects in the application. However, for North American and some other programs, GMAT/GRE scores are compulsory.

If you have the time, interest and money, you can retake, However, your time could be better spent on the applications.

Hi nikokolia,

First off, a 690/Q43 is a strong Score, so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. As such, a retest might not be necessary. That having been said, a Q43 won't "impress" anyone - and that Score might be seen as a 'red flag' at certain Programs. You're ultimately asking Admissions questions though, so you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

If you do choose to retest though, then we have to examine how you were studying for the Quant section before. Once you've decided on whether to retest or not, you should post back here (or you can PM me directly) and we can talk through your study options going forward.

You might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.

I think you didn’t really hit on your basics regarding the Quant .A clear concept of the basics should fetch you at least Q45. Clear your basics one more. But hey that’s a good verbal score, what resource did you use?

Hey guys!

So today I took GMAT I am pretty bummed with my results.
Got 690 43Q41V 7IR.
Prior to the exam I took 4 official exam mocks

1st) - 690 49q 35 V with practically no preparation. Then prepared in SC as it was my weak spot for about a month (couple hours a week)

2nd) - 690 44q 40v . After this started preparing in quant with the use of TTP. But didn't study according to plans. Only took medium and hard practice exams about most of the topics. read only the ones I was feeling afraid of

3rd) 720 - 49q 40v. This weekend on saturday.

4th) 750 - 50q 41v. This sunday and got super excited with this result and after this expected around 710-720.

Any advice would be welcome!

Hi nikokolia.

Regarding whether to retake the GMAT, you may find it helpful to chat with one of the many admissions consultants here on GMAT Club.

If you do decide to retake, I think you should dive back into TTP and make sure to complete the course, in full. If you can do so, there is no reason why you can’t score Q49+ on test day. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to me directly.

690 is a median score for most top business schools in Europe. Concentrate on your application and good luck!

In my opinion 690 is a good score to apply for LBS/LSE. More info can be given by MBA consultants. Maybe good to talk with a specialist.
