Paul was the best GMAT instructor I could have asked for. The class met every Wednesday night from 7 to 10pm. Though the classes were long, Paul had a way of adding humor to each class to keep us engaged and interested. My friends were taking GMAT classes through different companies at the same time I was doing Manhattan Prep, and they were instructed to take practice exams multiple times per week. Manhattan Prep used a different approach, assigning work to do at home in approx 1 hr increments per night, so that learning was a steady process and we didn't get burnt out. Paul taught us different ways to identify and approach different types of questions, as well as overall test taking strategies. I would recommend taking this class with Paul to anyone who asked.

Paul is one of the best (if not the best) teacher I have ever had. I am so glad I took his GMAT class! I improved my score by 100 points, and learned a lot in just a few months. He is an extremely engaging instructor - somehow the 3 hour evening classes are fun and not dull. I really liked his tips and pointed feedback; looking back it is crazy to think about how much he taught us under such a short period of time. There are still grammar tricks Paul taught our class that I do on my day-to-day and the reason why I will not forget them is because he made them so easy to understand and gave us tricks to remember them in the exam (and the future). I also really appreciated how much he cares about his students. He is always available via email, and even long after the class is over, he still reaches out to ask about my grad school plans.

I am so glad I took Paul's class - he truly is the best instructor. Took Manhattan Prep's 9-session GMAT course with Paul. It was clear from the first session onward that Paul had a very strong understanding of what drives success on the exam. The time Paul spent on discussing test-taking strategies, which I would otherwise not have paid much attention to, felt effectively used. In particular, Paul is great at forcing you to look at problems in multiple, unique ways, a habit that allowed me to solve some questions on test day that I would have otherwise struggled with. Paul and the course were also instrumental in helping me drop the perfectionist mentality and skip questions that were losing battles. The Manhattan prep course led by Paul Fisher helped me make a major jump in my score. I learned how to handle the challenges unique to the GMAT test, especially timing. Additionally, the software resources and practice exams complemented what we learned in class so that my knowledge was reinforced. Took the GMAT in-person prep course with Paul. He was very engaging throughout the course, and helped clarify a lot of concepts that weren't necessarily fully explained in the book - whether there was a shortcut or new method that was more effective for solving a problem, or just clarifying and giving an example of a concept that was easy to understand. The class felt very welcome asking questions about test content and approaches to specific problems, and Paul always knew best how to answer and clarify so everyone understood. I started the course with a 600 on my first Manhattan Prep CAT, and roughly 4 weeks after the last class I took the test and scored a 750.

My Manhattan GMAT experience significantly helped me improve my score. I started with a score of 630 and over the course of the nine weeks improved that to a 710. Not only did I learn tips about how to stay calm and effectively take the test. Our class was large (about 30 students), but the instructor did a great job managing the group. The online practice tests are harder than the actual GMAT, in my opinion, but signing up for Manhattan also gave me access to GMATWrite, which allowed me to see how I would score on the essay. Manhattan does not focus on the IR, and in fact, doesn't have any lessons on IR. For me, the verbal section was more helpful than was the quantitative section.

I took the GMAT in January without having ever studied to get an idea of where I would land. First time around, 710. I was happy with this score but decided I wanted to put some time in to improve my score and make myself a more attractive applicant to MBA programs.

Having crossed 700, I called Manhattan Prep on the recommendation of a friend to get some guidance on what might be the best studying option for me, and they told me that based on my current performance, and my goal, private tutoring would be the way to go. So I got matched up with Paul Fisher in Ann Arbor (I was still studying at UM) and we did 10 hours in total of one on one tutoring spread over a few months. He was extremely helpful in identifying my shortfalls and then working through advanced techniques with me to improve in those areas. I would do practice work or exams on my own in between sessions (Manhattan provides an extensive array of materials as part of the tutoring package), and then we would go over my mistakes as well as cover the general curriculum that Manhattan Prep provides as part of the tutoring service.

I took the exam again in March, and was extremely pleased my new result, 770. Thank you Paul and Manhattan Prep!
