Hey all - if anyone has attended an open day, can you please shed some light on the case study? Is it meant to mimic a real class or is it more relaxed? Just curious.

Hi!

The open day class we had in Barcelona was a lot of fun. The school emails u the case study about a week or 2 beforehand to prep. Our case study included 4 questions that helped us formulate our opinions about the case, and discuss them in class. There's no right / wrong answer, but having an opinion makes the class a lot more fun / interesting, cuz u get to challenge mindsets. If u don't prep at all, u miss out on that opportunity. I wouldn't overdo studying though. A person with 0 business background wouldn't need more than an hour to prep.

AdCom, career services, and some current students attend the class as well, but the objective of their attendance is not to assess you, but to give u the opportunity to get to know them, learn about the school, and for u to find out how IESE can help u specifically achieve ur goals... not to see how well u studied / prepped for the class. Think of open day as the university's sales pitch to convince potential candidates to apply. The class / case study, is one of many things that give u a glimpse into how studies could be for u @ IESE.

Hi everyone, I received my process interview invitation yesterday, January 12th. Interview will take place on January 20th in Shanghai.

I am a Chinese-American, 30, BA from the University of North Carolina and MA from Valparaiso University. 6 years work experience in media, retail, e-commerce, market entry consulting, and trade finance, all in Shanghai. GMAT 750.

I had my interview with Dr. Go today in Shanghai. The interview was very conversational, much more informal than my previous experience with INSEAD or even a standard job interview. It felt like he was trying to figure out what kind of person I am, in addition to the standard questions about background/career path/etc., which was refreshing.

Crossing my fingers on being invited to Assessment Day!
Received an invite to Assessment Day in Singapore in March, today.

I was told by my interviewer that not everyone's invited to AD - some can be admitted directly without one. But guess the result will be out later.
