Sorry, I didn't say it correctly. I checked with admissions office - the date stated is the date for a decision - rejection, what day they will interview you, wait list and any other option.

Ok that's a bit better. So it's a date for an initial notification, not necessarily final decision (accept/reject/WL) only.

Just had my interview, and I think it went well.

At some point the interviewer asked me if there are other schools I'm pursuing. I told her that Rotman is the only business school I applied for. I am confident about my admission prospect but did I just hack my financial aid? I am so frustrated now that I think I let 5-10k slipped through my fingers. Any take?

Had my interview yesterday with Ally. She was nice, asked me to walk her through the transitions in my career and other basic questions like why mba? and behavioral questions.
She also asked me about other mba colleges I have applied to - was not really expecting that question. Overall, it was alright - can't wait to know. *fingers crossed*
She did say they have received a lot of applicants so they should have a decision by the stipulated date if not before.

Anybody from India who has had their interview?

Hi guys,

Considering the talk of surge in applicants here. I am a bit confused. I applied on the 24th of Jan and haven't heard anything yet. I know the deadlines is for the 27th Feb but they have indeed mentioned on the website that they process applications as soon as they arrive.

So based on the delays mentioned here should I just consider my submission date to be more like Feb 27? That would change a lot of things. :/

For those who are waiting to hear back, I don't want to burst your bubble but I'll be straight up: these deadlines are soft deadlines.

What this means is that Rotman is not 100% committed to them. They'll do their best, of course, but if they can't meet the deadline, then they won't meet the deadline. Usually this happens when there is a larger than expected number of applicants. It happened in my year, and every year since, as far as I know.

It sucks, but it is what it is. This also means that just because you haven't heard back before the deadline, doesn't mean it's a rejection; it could merely mean they're behind on their assessments. There have been cases where they won't let you know they'll be late in giving you a response (or they just forgot).

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do but wait it out and hope for the best.

We're all waiting buddy!! Join the club

Submitted my application on 3rd Jan. I checked with the adcom and they mentioned that this delay is caused by unprecedented number of applicants this year but they are working hard to provide feedback to all R2 applicants by 24th Feb. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best
