I wish prospective students a celebratory new year and all the best for all your Round-2 applications. Based on my chats with a few prospectives and seeing their essays, I thought I'd share key points you could keep in mind as you write your applications, especially for international candidates.
I've seen that candidates often under-sell their experiences. Be mindful of the fact that many of you have great experiences (which have motivated you to apply to B-school), ensure your essays show that. keep in mind "Show, not tell" - i.e. don't use words like very, extremely, brilliantly, innovative, awesome, outstanding, etc. to describe your work, but rather elaborate using phrases which'll make it clear the experiences were awesome.
Also, be more specific in why Anderson, why MBA, why a role, why you wanna do an activity or take a course. every activity/course at Anderson should have a past connection and a future purpose.
For my school to have best students in the future batches, it is important for prospectives to descrie their experiences well!
All the best!
