Thanks, Mate. How are the UNC's interviews like?, are there specific areas I need to prepare for?

They must be doing a quick hard stats review with some geographic filters on top before interviewing. There's no possible way they can read your essays / recommendations in such a short time frame. Unless they send interviews in two batches, where those that don't make the auto interview are looked at manually. Or perhaps a quick resume read. My gut tells me they may try and make a play for R1 applicants, so they are trying to get those interviews done early. Who knows though. Incredible turn around time regardless.

Yes, they are very fast in sending interview invites. They are more faster for R2 applicants than they were for R1 applicants. I submitted my application on 16th Oct and received invite on 20th Oct(First wave). So, be happy and give your best shot. All the best

Also got invited to an interview a day after submission. Quick question, given that you submitted your App on Dec. 6th. Are you confident you're in Round 2?

Yeap, since the R2 deadline was extended till 6th Dec, I am being considered in R2.

No, the school does not interview all the people. However it does interview all the people how visit the campus during the open interview period.
