Hello GMAC,

I sat for GMAT in August and selected 5 schools where Score was to be sent. Yesterday I received mail from one of the school, stating that Score was not received by them. I have email from GMAC stating that Score has been reported. The same has also shown on my Account page of MBA.com

I have shared the details of the same with the school's ADCOM members but after rechecking they are still saying that Score hasn't been received by them.
How can I resolve this issue?? Kindly Help.

Thanks.

Hello,

I’m trying to install the exam prep software for exam pack 1 and 2 but my computer won’t open .gsp files on windows 10 and asks me to choose an application to open the file. Any advice as to how to resolve this?

Thank you

Greetings OfficialGMAT Leah, :)

With the latest changes made to the GMAT test, I do think that GMAC definitely increased the difficulty level of GMAT verbal.

Compare for instance the two passages of the same level below:

(1.) https://gmatclub.com/forum/those-exampl ... 81067.html

(2.) https://gmatclub.com/forum/no-very-sati ... 81770.html

The second one is much MUCH easier than the first one (latest OG edition), though both passages are of the same level.

please share your thoughts on this.

thank you and regards,

Dave

FYI, the old GMATPrep desktop software still works fine for me. (I'm on a Mac running OS 10.14 and GMATPrep v2.5.)

I can now only access exams 1 and 2 on a fresh install, but free exams 1 and 2 include around 1500 questions total! Also, if you've already installed Exam Packs 1 and 2 (Exams 3 through 6), then they should continue to work (they are working for me on the computers I had already activated).

The exam packs are tied to your account, so I doubt it. As in, you'll anyway need an account (free, you don't have to register for the actual exam) to log in and access even the free practice tests on the online platform.

GMATPrep for Christmas... are you sure this is a friend :-D

Jokes aside, they used to provide codes earlier, and GMAT Club also seems to have a system to provide access to the paid tests, so it'd be great if OfficialGMAT or bb could clarify.

Hey guys!
I have two simple questions. I did send an email but no response from days!

1. My name is in Full upper case on my passport. But I have registered with lower case. The order of the name is correct. Just that it is not in all upper case.
Registered- Firstname Lastname
On passport - FIRSTNAME LASTNAME

2. In my passport the format of date of birth is DD-MM-YY. On the gmac site it is MM-DD-YY.
None of these provide any format to easily differentiate between month and day.

Are these two things alright? I have sent an email but they did not reply from a long time. :/

OfficialGMAT bb GMATNinja @abimanha please can someone confirm this. I have my exam in 5 days!

blitzkriegxX, I don't know anything about GMAT's policies on those specific things, but I would be SHOCKED if they're a problem. In most of the world, date of birth is written in a DD-MM-YY format. We're just weird here in the United States, and tend to put the month first. I can't imagine why anybody would have a problem with the international format on your passport.

And I think the same is true of the caps in your name. Unless the picture on your passport looks nothing like you, it's hard for me to imagine that there'll be a problem. I'll be embarrassed if I'm wrong, but it's unimaginable to me that the date format or the capitalization could possibly cause trouble.

So sleep well over the next few days, and don't worry about the passport format. And good luck on your exam!! We're rooting for you.

1. I've seen plenty of cases with the name issue you are asking about, and there were no problems there.

2. GMATNinja is right: the date of birth just needs to be correct. The formats don't need to match. You'll be fine as long as you remembered to "switch" the order on mba.com. The staff at your center would have a very good idea about the date formats in your country.

I still think it'd be safer to let them know, though. Why don't you just call Pearson up? They take a lot of time to respond over email.

AjiteshArun GMATNinja thank you so much for the super quick responses. It really helps because I was starting to get super worried. Its been days since I sent them an email.
And AjiteshArun I did think to call them. In fact, I did call them once but there was no response. But in a lot of posts that i read and on the official website they ask you to scan and send them a copy of passport to their email. Even if u call them, they will only change it if u send them an email with a copy of passport.
Also there have been quite a few cases of huge delays in responses from pearson especially in the Asia Pacific region. Also some rare cases where even if you send a hundred mails, they do not receive it. But if u send the same mail from a different email-id then they receive it. I know that's probably the weirdest glitch or whatever!

Also as bb had suggested in one of his posts that if you have any doubt in such details as DD-MM-YY format, just create another account and confirm it yourself. I did exactly that. I entered everything correctly and confirmed it. It was MM-DD-YY on the gmac site. So AjiteshArun I did update it correctly.

I felt like I'm one of those rare cases as mentioned earlier and was starting to panic. And as usual Gmatclub always has your back! :)

Happy holidays guys!

That's great, because at the Pearson Professional centers in countries like India, they can be very strict with these ID requirements. Other centers vary a bit more in how closely they follow them. On the other hand, there have also been some cases where Pearson did not go against the test taker.

Try calling them once more if you can, and all the best!

Hi everybody, I need to share the unjust and insensitive treatment of GMAC and how it may affect my MBA journey.

The exam that I would take on 13th of December was cancelled due to technical problems and rescheduled to 6th of January, only available date in my city (Ankara/Turkey). Ok, no problem, I still had the time for 2nd rounds with two exceptions(Fuqua and Cornell). I emailed the schools and they stated the sooner they received the score the better it was, a response I interpreted favourably. So I started to study hard while I prepared all the documents for MBAs and HR programs in a very very busy schedule at work.

Today, I got another email from Pearson, when I was on a leave to study for GMAT, that my test on the 6th January was cancelled. I quickly checked the available dates in Ankara and saw there was no place before 16th of January which was very late for 2nd rounds. I called GMAT European services but got no answer, actually the phone did not even ring, maybe they should update the number in their website. I sent an email to GMAC but have not got a response for about 4 hours. I called the test center in Ankara to make them open a new test but they refused, did not care about my situation. I called Istanbul test center. The lady on the phone told me they made the exams everyday, but the first available date was 10th of January, still very late for McCombs and UCLA.

Just now I used the Live Chat option in mba.com and an agent rescheduled my appointment as 10th of January in İstanbul, of course free of charge. So now I am gonna take a bus, train, plane whatever, take another leave from my company, and still not sure whether McCombs and UCLA accept the score.

Is it so difficult to schedule an exam before 8th of January in Ankara for GMAC. They can just call the test center and make it happen, but they do not care much I guess. I could not even reach them to explain the situation except the chat option.

You know what, I have a company sponsorship and now it is in jeopardy if I cannot get an admittance.
Well done GMAC, very well done.

Hi Leah

So does it make sense to put in an appeal without the school requesting for it or do you think there is still a chance an appeal without school request may be answered. I have a similar ask as avergae GMAT score from my region are high. I am a genuine test take as i have genuinely applied and sent scores to schools which i can share with the GMAC team?

Hi,
Is it true that the difficulty level of questions which appear on the GMAT varies according to the region where a person takes the test from? I heard someone say that if you take the test in Thailand or Indonesia you would get easy questions? Is it true?
