Hi everybody, I need to share the unjust and insensitive treatment of GMAC and how it may affect my MBA journey.
The exam that I would take on 13th of December was cancelled due to technical problems and rescheduled to 6th of January, only available date in my city (Ankara/Turkey). Ok, no problem, I still had the time for 2nd rounds with two exceptions(Fuqua and Cornell). I emailed the schools and they stated the sooner they received the score the better it was, a response I interpreted favourably. So I started to study hard while I prepared all the documents for MBAs and HR programs in a very very busy schedule at work.
Today, I got another email from Pearson, when I was on a leave to study for GMAT, that my test on the 6th January was cancelled. I quickly checked the available dates in Ankara and saw there was no place before 16th of January which was very late for 2nd rounds. I called GMAT European services but got no answer, actually the phone did not even ring, maybe they should update the number in their website. I sent an email to GMAC but have not got a response for about 4 hours. I called the test center in Ankara to make them open a new test but they refused, did not care about my situation. I called Istanbul test center. The lady on the phone told me they made the exams everyday, but the first available date was 10th of January, still very late for McCombs and UCLA.
Just now I used the Live Chat option in mba.com and an agent rescheduled my appointment as 10th of January in İstanbul, of course free of charge. So now I am gonna take a bus, train, plane whatever, take another leave from my company, and still not sure whether McCombs and UCLA accept the score.
Is it so difficult to schedule an exam before 8th of January in Ankara for GMAC. They can just call the test center and make it happen, but they do not care much I guess. I could not even reach them to explain the situation except the chat option.
You know what, I have a company sponsorship and now it is in jeopardy if I cannot get an admittance.
Well done GMAC, very well done.
