For the information of waitlisted candidates:
Getting into the waitlist is far better than getting rejected. I had applied to Olin in the first Round and got waitlisted and kind of felt the same as you.
But now when I can see my waitlist offers getting converted too I can breathe a sigh o relief.
Getting out of the waitlist is not a hard process. You have got to know where you lacked in your previous applications and improve upon them. I was in contact with the Admin Comm and informed them of my development in career since Round 1 and many more similar updates, which helped me get through the waitlist.
Posted from my mobile device
I applied in R2 which is in January and what can I showcase in 2 months?
You have to identify where your application was lacking. For me, it was my Post MBA goals and some other stuffs I feel. When I informed the AdCom of the developments and changes, I feel I made myself a better candidate in the eyes of the AdCom.
My advise: network with people, talk to them about what they feel was wrong with your application. I possible get in touch with your interviewer and ask him/her about their views if they don't mind answering such questions.
A min 720 is almost a must for Indian Applicants, if your score is lesser or even 720, a better GMAT score improves your chances of getting in
Re-iterate your interest in the Olin Business School, network more and know more about the School and keep in touch with the AdCom and telling them how much you wish to join Olin and why you will be a good candidate for them.
Retrospect a lot, you know yourself the best. Think about where you can improve, address those issues and keep in touch with the AdCom about the changes.
Follow up letters are best sent 2-3 weeks after waitlist decisions and keep in touch with the AdCom as much as you can.
Hope this helps.
Best of luck for the road ahead.
