Thank you!! Haas 23' Candidate here. I'm curious your sense of how many of peers in your class have gotten new jobs, promotions and/or changed industries since you started in the MBA program (specifically interested in anecdotes of those who transitioned into tech)?

How is networking with full-timers and how close-knit is the PT program? I know the FT program is as big as the PT program and you would know close if not all your classmates with the small class. Any personal experience you can share there?

I think you are mistaking FT and PT application threads. I can still answer your questions from the FT prospective though. PT program is actually bigger than the FT and networking between two programs is not too bad. I know EWMBA MBAA and FT MBAA are working to get more networking and joint events. We share evening and some of the of the weekend electives and all of Haas events (club or schools organized) are open to EWMBA. Not sure what the Fall semester will look like with this COVID situation, but once we go in-person it will be fun!

As for switching jobs, I can tell you that it is pretty easy in the FT program and I cannot tell much beyond that. As long as you know the target company well and worked on your resume with peer advisers, then it shouldn't be that big of a problem. The brand will get you into the door then it is up to you. I would reach out to EWMBA career advisers or peer advisers (your fellow EWMBA 2nd and 3rd years) and ask them this question.

Deferrals will definitely impact 2021 intake for all schools. This year we can expect a challenging admissions cycle.

I think it would be best to apply to more number of schools and to a wide range of programs to increase the odds.

Dear Experts,

I have recently taken my GMAT & managed to score a 760 (Q50,V42). However, I screwed up on IR & ended up scoring a 2. Do you think this IR score can become a point of rejection during my Haas MBA application, assuming that the rest of my profile has no red flags?

If yes, are there some strategies I can take to reduce the impact of the IR score? I am not really keen on taking the GMAT again just to move up the IR score.

Does anyone know if we can apply at Haas with the Online GMAT score? On this link it says AWA is needed: https://mba.haas.berkeley.edu/admissions/gmat-and-gre but the online version doesnt have that section. Would appreciate if someone can confirm.

Graduation+leadership :
B.Tech - Aerospace Engineering 7.4/10 GPA (top 20% of the class) - SRM Univ top 30 Engineering college in India- Top 10 for Aerospace

Class representative, Placement rep for the department of aerospace, Deputy Chair of the Aerospace Club,
One of the founding members and Director of GO green Division of a student run NGO for teaching, environmental awareness etc etc
Deputy Chair of Aersopace Week in the college- a first of its kind event

Work Ex-
State Bank of India - 5 years (one among 1800 selected out of 25 million applicants)- Largest bank and public sector bank-Fortune 500 company

Currently a Credit Analyst ( Manager Level) - Handle commercial credit accounts to the tune of Rs 15000cr ($ 2 Billion USD)- with a team of 12 reporting to me- Selected among 15k applicants to work for that post..

Prior to my current role Branch Manager of a rural Branch with a team of 7
Women empow through SHG (self help groups) helped 2930 women get jobs ( yea the number is the exact one)... and through stand-up india scheme to help the women in the area support their husband's income
farmer schemes- helped many farmers avoid the debt trap during my two years by teaching the basics of finance and the skill to chose the right crop- worked closely with the NGOs and the village administrations (4 villages) to create awareness among the common folk there that suicide isnt and shouldnt be an option and we can work together for paying debt.
other tasks skill india, worked with district admin to help improve the overall development of the area, worked the commissioner for industrial growth, etc etc etc..

GRE- 315- The Achilles heel!!! I know its a bummer!!

But i just love the school !!!

Realistic chances please on a scale of 1-10 would be much appreciated

1- being no way you cant get in
10- Heck ya! you come to our B school with a scholarship

I received my interview invitation a few days back. The online scheduling platform had interviews open until first week of November. Hope this helps!
