Is it important to have the interview early? Deadline for interview is 7th March by the way. Is there any difference between having interview on the 1st of February and having it on the 7th of March?

R1 admit here. I honestly don't think so. All the decisions come out one date so it's not like you'll hear any sooner. I would interview when you think you'll be ready--that will far outweigh any marginal benefit of interviewing on the early end
Has anyone that submitted within an hour of the round 2 deadline received an interview invite?
With people having received interview invites within the last few weeks, I'm worried that since I submitted my application so close to the round 2 application deadline that it may not be looked at until round 3. On my MyStatus page, it says that my application was received on 1/09/19 even though it was submitted before the 11:59 pm CST cut off time on 1/08/19. I also received an email from UT on 1/09/19 saying that my round 2 application is processing. I just hope logistics don't end up screwing me over since.
papermachine You should be fine. I submitted with 40 mins to the deadline and my application status was "in processing" for a while before it got updated to "in review."

Agreed. I submitted the day before the deadline but my recommender didn't submit until 25 mins pre-deadline. I received an invite on Thursday. I'm sure you are being considered in the R2 timeframe. I got the same email on 1/9 saying the application was processing, so I think all R2 applicants got that.
I interviewed on the last possible day last year (for Round 2) and I got in, so I don't think it matters honestly

Yesterday, I asked the AdCom regarding R2 interview invitation and got the following response from them:
"Interview invitations can come at any time during the application round, as the admissions committee continues to review applications up until the decision notification day."
I believe that there are still some R2 invitations to come.
I interviewed with ad-come yesterday. But I made a cardinal sin of arriving 10 mins late to the interview. I did inform in advance. And I did apologise for delay. The interviewer did not seem to mind much because she did not have any interviews scheduled after me. But then, it would be hard to ignore my lack of punctuality. Should I consider myself out of the race?

Hi,
While arriving late to interview is certainly a negative point, your candidature will be evaluated across several parameters, so this one factor alone certainly does not rule you out. Best of luck!

Can you please share what kind of questions were you asked and etc.

Sure all were behavioural questions on the expected lines. I will submit the details in the interview debrief.
Does anyone have an update on R2 interview invitations? My application still shows in-review but I haven’t received any intimation from the school. Is the wave for R2 interview invites over ? Are there more people who are waiting for their R2 interview invites ?
I still haven’t heard anything regarding an interview invite from UT for round 2. I may be thinking about it with the wrong mindset but I really thought I would at least get an interview as someone who graduated from McCombs undergrad with a fairly high GPA and a gmat at UT’s average. Hopefully the interview invites aren’t over but the process has been a bit discouraging considering other schools I applied to extended interview invitations within a week.
