I'm really really excited to break some awesome news. The stud who wrote this debrief? Well, he just got into Ross! And he got FULL RIDES at Foster and ASU, and landed on the waitlist at Tuck.

So pile some congratulations onto souvik101990 whenever you see him on the forums! After FOUR FREAKING YEARS of GMAT and essay-writing mayhem, that guy deserves every bit of the good news.

Congratulations again, my friend!!

Congratulations Souvik. You deserve all the kudos coming your way man. You've been a constant source of help to everyone on this forum and even though a lot of us have got our Target schools and already on our journey to a B school, people keep on coming back to read your posts and experiences like these.

The most amazing part of this community is how relatable our struggles are. I've never met anyone of you but reading through each and every debrief, whether it is a story of a disappoint score or one of resounding success, makes me feel as if it happened to me. Despite all of us eyeing one of the coveted spots in the top B schools we root for each other and that's due to awesome contributors like you.

I wish nothing but the best for you and if someday our paths cross, I owe you a beer (apologies if you don't drink) for all the help and motivation you've provided to everyone on this forum, especially the Indian applicants.

We live in a cutthroat world and people like you make it easy for us and make this community an enjoyable one. You rock man!

Have you received any admits?

Do you have any self prepared documents that you can share with us? For example study plans, etc

Just came across the post. Congratulations on your score, and thank you for sharing your GMAT journey.

You mentioned you paid for and tried a list of different GMAT prep courses.

Based on your experience,do you feel a combination of a single GMAT prep course and free materials available online should suffice.
Or did you use tools from all the different courses that you guide you in your GMAT preparation?

Quick update from the questions received on this thread. I am answering multiple questions on this thread, so nothing specific but a general broader view of applications and GMAT prep.

Is there a single course that can guarantee that you will increase your score by 50 points or 100 points or that you will score a 720 or more? Not really. It is a promise similar to what fad diets and ab-crunchers claim. Most of your improvement will come from being critical of your own work - in case of losing weight - it is diet and exercise and tracking progress meticulously. In case of GMAT Prep, it is tracking your mistakes and making sure you do not make the same mistake again if a similar concept is tested on a different question.

The pursuit of a silver bullet as futile as the attempt to create one.

How I prepared for the test

Many people are naturally good at standardized tests. I am not one of them. While I think I get things easily but I also am a very fidgety person with a very low attention span. I will elaborate more on what I did but before that a bit of preface:

I have used/reviewed the following courses over the last few years.

1. Knewton Full Course (I am old in this game)
2. Manhattan 9 week full online course
3. Veritas Prep Live online course.
4. e-GMAT verbal online course.
5. Kaplan live online course.
6. EMPOWERgmat online course
Hi souvik101990, congrats to you for achieving a good score.
I've a question about ''Manhattan 9 week full online course''. Did this course help you to get this score? How friendly the instructors of "ManhattanPrep"? May I know who is your ''Manhattan 9 week full online course'' instructor so that I can try myself to join his/her course?
Thanks__
