RC Butler Project 2020 - Practice 2 RCs Passages Everyday

Hello Community

Welcome to the RC butler project 2020 edition, this is the 3rd edition. First edition was started in 2018 by workout. For background information, purpose and how it works you can visit 2019 edition here. and 2018 edition here. This edition will starts from 1st of April 2020.

For those who don’t know about butler project, I will post 2 RC passage daily to contribute towards the preparation of GMAT aspirants. Students who need explanations can post their questions in replies I will try my best to help you out there. By investing your 20-30 minutes daily you can improve your RC part of GMAT. GMAT companies’ representatives are welcome to post explanations on request of the members.

Time to expect new questions: 9:00 - 10:00 AM Pacific time zone.

Prize for contributors

GMAT students who are in initial stage of their RC part can take this project as a leaning opportunity by just taking RC questions. Students who think they have mastered this part of GMAT can contribute by helping other students. They can explain questions and win GMAT Club tests for a month (40$ value).

Rules for awarding prize

  • The question will be posted in competition mode for 1 day so that members cannot see other members post or replies on that question.
  • Member who post explanations will be included in the competition to win prize.
  • Copy paste explanations will not be considered.
  • Explanations must be comprehensive, the reasoning why wrong answers are wrong and why correct answer is correct should be there.
  • This competition will be running for a month and might be extended based on the response of the members.
  • A winner needs to explain all questions of at least 5 RCs to win the prize.
  • The best explainer of the month will get 3 month GC tests (80$ value).

The clock is not included in this project. Is it possible to include a timer ? It will be quite helpful to stay on pace. :)

I assume you are hinting to the timer in the RC questions posted for the project, Timer is not available in competition mode and we are hopeful to bring it in within a few days.

Is a prize awarded for every RC passage, or does one need to provide answers for 5+ passages?

For instance, I posted a response to RC1 today and answered all six questions. Do I need to do four more passages or am I done?

No you are not done yet, you should post explanations of at least 5 or 5+ RCs to be considered for the prize.

There is no special arrangements to get anyone included into, you just need to participate, post detailed explanations of the questions and you might be the winner.

Ahh, it might be a good suggestion for future but at the moment i think we can have a little discussion on each question's thread. Depending on the numbers of members i can make a separate chat room for discussion if we need it. Right now i am going to release the OAs of yesterday's posted RCs.
